Polyaspartic concrete coatings have an extended pot life which helps improve adhesion to the concrete surface. They are also more UV resistant and won’t yellow over time like epoxies will. Polyaspartic garage floors can be installed in a single day, and you can use your garage within four hours! Polyurea and epoxies take days to cure, have bonding issues, are not UV resistant (they yellow over time), and are not for those who want a long-lasting garage floor.
Polyaspartic coating is a tried and-true method of redoing your garage floor. It has a wide variety of color choices and is extremely durable when it comes to tough chemicals. If you are getting bids, ask your contractor if his BASE is also polyaspartic or if they are using a cheaper product like epoxy or polyurea. Many contractors say they are using polyaspartic, but that is only on the topcoat, and the base coat is still the cheaper epoxy or polyurea. Just remember, if you use expensive paint over cheap paint that has poor adhesion, you are still looking for trouble.
